I haven't seen the movie, but I heard it's good. I don't like thrillers either unless I can control the sound. And stuff that's supposed to be scary or evil..who needs it? We get a big dose of that from the TV and the newspapers.

You'd be surprised how much of the "afterlife" shows up in the paranormal. Sometimes (but not always), it dovetails with it.
