The Wall was pretty much based on Water's life.

"Pink" in the movie was pretty much Waters.

His father’s death in WWII affected him greatly. It was another “brick in the wall,” that he built around him to separate him from the rest of the world.

His wife cheating on him and his addiction to drugs were two other brick the movie shows. And then “Pink” becomes a fascist much like the Nazis, the very thing that killed his father.

Water’s sunk deeper into his gloomy bitterness and the band couldn’t take it anymore, so they went their separate ways. You can see this gloomy bitterness in The Final Cut, and Radio Chaos.

Being a big Pink Floyd fan, I followed waters career for a while, but I have lost track of him since the early 90’s.
