It's amazing the amount science which is not being done because of the politicalization of this subject. Billions of dollars per year are spent by the govt, but these funds seem to be sucked up for various forms of primitive rain dancing, rather money for stuff that would further the science.
The poor funding for weather stations and lousy upkeep of them is an example.
