If we had never entered WWII the Nazis would have finished off the Soviet Union and the Japanese would have prevented the rise of Red China and we would have lived in a world forever free of Communism.

And if the Confederacy had won the Civil War we'd have colonies on the moons of Jupiter by now.

Then again, maybe not.
