Malicious adware?

I have two programs that check for adware and parasites, etc. that have been added to my computer. Noadware just found (for the zillionth time) something called iMesh and rated it as severe. I removed it. I googled iMesh and it is a program for file sharing. Any idea how serious this is or how it keeps getting onto my computer?
