I have yet to read any of them but my son owns them all so I've decided to start reading the one just before this new one since the movie isn't out yet before tackling the ending.
I have to admit that I'm very impressed with Rowling's writing abilities. She caught my interest early and demonstrated a very difficult technique in the first chapter - the ability to move in and out of flashbacks effortlessly. I always knew exactly what era she was describing.
Her imagination for the absurd is wonderful. I wasn't sure how much of it was her writing and how much came from the movie directors and the CGI guys.
I now see why both kids and adults are so engaged.
