"Meanwhile, elsewhere..."

The entire series, with the exception of the first few scenes in the first book, is written completely from Harry's point of view. The reader is in Harry's head the whole time. This is not easy. Rowling has developed a number of magical devices and situations that allow the reader to see flashbacks and other scenes where Harry is not personally present. His "connection" to Voldemort. The Pensieve. And of course, there's always long-winded exposition or the "telling of a tale," which is what most authors use. Sometimes it's almost a bit contrived, but it works.

I write from the "god's eye" view, although it's sensible to latch onto one character's POV and stick to it in a particular scene when you can.
