HOA = Home Owner's Association.

It is a local organization.

All it takes to change a rule is a community vote, maybe it is time for a change.

I deal with the problem the natural way, I plant trees. Shad over the house is a great way to kill the heat. Plus the trees turn the sun’s energy plus some water and carbon dioxide into sugar and oxygen. Not a bad deal.

The only problem is, it takes a long time for a tree to get tall enough to shade a house.

I have a bunch of 100+ foot tall pine trees shading the front of my house. I planted some oaks and maples to shade the rest, but they will take years to grow.

Yes, I am a tree hugger. I know us Conservatives are not supposed to be. Hey, I am conserving nature.
