You may be right that Conservatives weren't glad about 9/11, but you 'd have a hard time denying that Conservatives have shown absolutely no scruples about trying to exploit the tragedy for political gain. Given that it worked, for a while, I should expect an honest Conservative to feel, at a minimum, some conflict and perhaps even shame at having profited from 9/11. One would hope so...
