They sound interesting Frank.
I started one two weeks ago. In this story, America wakes up one morning and finds itself alone in the world. The rest of the world is gone, as if it had never been. That night, as they stars come out, they realize they are not even in the Solar System anymore.
They think aliens did it, but really have no evidence. As they learn about their new system they also learn about what happened to the rest of the Earth.

Another one, I have not started yet, deals with life at the end of times, when the Universe is fading and no new stars are being born. I have been writing out much of it, but it has proven to be a very challenging subject matter.

I do have one time travel story that I would like to write. A historian and her colleague (Inventor of the time machine) travel to the Titanic to document and study the historical event. They discover one of Hitler’s Nazis stooges on board. They learn that Hitler’s group has built a time machine. They also learn that this Nazis has changed history.
The Titanic was never supposed to have sunk. It became a troopship in WW1, but was sunk taking an invading army with it. This gave Germany the upper hand and they eventually won. Germany prospered and when Hitler came around, very few would listen to him. He could not gain power in a Germany where most were happy with life.
So our time travelers right the wrong and keep the Titanic afloat. When they get back to the present, they find a world n nuclear ruin. They learn that by the 1980’s the three nuclear superpowers, the US, USSR and Germany, have an all out nuclear missile exchange.
So they have to go back and change history again. They have to sink the Titanic. This pains them, knowing they’ll sacrifice not only those on the Titanic, but also all the people who died in the holocaust, to save humanity’s future.
They do not have enough power to get back to the Titanic, but one of them can get back to the 1930’s. Then man goes back and gets into Hitler’s Time Travel program. With this, he is able to go back to the Titanic and sink the ship.
