Stupid doesn't even begin to describe the decision by NASA
to bring down the ISS about 2015, only 5 years after completing
an emasculated version of what was once to be called Space Station
"Freedom".
Where's NASA going to get the money to deorbit the damn thing?
Is it going to raid return-to-the-moon funding to pay for the premature
deorbiting?...Is it going to siphon off funding from other NASA projects?
Yera...I know they pan to deorbit it in stages..as if that makes
the termination of ISS 'cheaper'.
NASA is going to do some long-duration spaceflight 'research'
onboard the ISS during those 5 years.
As if that hasn't been done before....Talk about reinvenitnig the wheel...
NASA, NASDA, ESA want to do some biomedical research
onboard ISS in that short interval...Great!...Maybe they'll
find the cure for osteoporosis or AIDS...maybe they won't.
Don't hold your breath.
Am I sounding cynical?....Well....You have better intuition
than I suspect.
NASA should never have started the ISS project if it had no
intention of creating a productive, long-term facility.
Phil Wilson from Boston is right!...The ISS is Skylab 2.
Calling it Skylab 2 is not a compliment.

- Meanwhile, Bigelow might have first habitable module up by 2010.
- Where does that come from?
- It's the product of a throw away space program.
- ISS was never anything but a Reagan propaganda gadget.
