Space/Science » in reply to 50 years of space conquest

In a perfect world the term "conquest" would be an anachronism

While we are busy fighting on this world for dwindling resources, the relative infinity of space resources lies fallow. When I think about it rationally it boggles my mind that we as human beings can't cooperate to provide the plenty for all that is available. But then we humans aren't very rational are we? We have a thin veneer of civilization applied to a evolved organism that was trained to fight and claw over mates and resources over the aeons. We will probably be stuck in this irrational war like mode unless we modify our DNA to pacify ourselves. Let's face it, every baby is a savage ready to sponge up whatever cultural propaganda in which it is immersed.
