Ah, I see

(To pay homage to Art's nailing you again.)

It really is impressive to watch you try to connect any occurrence at all in the real world to your political views. "Look at what this private professional association did! That's a perfect predictor of how government would do it!". The guidelines came from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Tom, not the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Are professional and trade associations a dangerous manifestation of collectivism? Well, if so, you'd better file RICO charges against the American Association of Manufacturers, the Republican Party, The United States Chamber of Commerce, et al, because they're all Republican-Influenced Collectivist Organizations.

I'd also echo Art's sentiment that the original post was worth discussing on its own merits, without the pollution of political partisanship. It happens that I agree that the guidelines are outrageously intrusive, but damn, in the face of your knee-jerk partisanship, I have to suppress my own instinct to take the opposite position. It's needlessly polarizing. You'd get a lot more agreement if you didn't keep shooting yourself in the foot this way, creating opposition where none existed naturally.
