One of my main issues with nationalized health care is that the idiots in Washington will immediately seize on their monopoly for intensive control of your life. Conservatives will go off the deep end on vice, drugs and STDs. Liberals will go nuts about smoking, nutrition, guns, dangerous toys, and whatever the current health Fad-Of-The-Week is.

You tell me what kind of worldview is behind this kind of nosiness. I'll give you a clue: it isn't one sympathetic to individual freedom. Reporting a child who shows physical or other signs of abuse is one thing. Running an interrogation when there's no reason to suspect a problem is another.

Turn over the health care system to Washington, the heart of collectivism in this country, and see what happens.

In places like England, overweight people and people who haven't taken very good care of themselves are feeling the cold breezes already.
