Enough with this "left shift" crap
My viewpoints on politics haven't really shifted much since my days campaigning for Nixon and Goldwater. What's shifted in our country is that now what was considered the right back then is now where the middle is today. The people screaming about the guys you're defending aren't being ultra-liberal. They're shouting against a hijacking of the Republican Party by absolute extremists.
The shift you're seeing is something you should be celebrating instead of deriding because it means a return to where America ought to be, straddling the fence between conservatism and liberalism. That I can live with. Fascism gets under my skin.
