re: Meanwhile, in Iraq... The situation.

"Exile condemns Iraqi 'corruption'". Officially sanctioned corruption, widespread. No chance for "democracy".

"Doors closing on Iraqi displaced."

"Iraq's provinces say they are not able to cope with the refugee influx. A growing number of Iraqi provinces are refusing entry to internal refugees, the UN refugee agency has warned."

This is Iraqi helping Iraqi. No resources, no help.

"Iraq violence, in figures."

Lots and lots. The US military hasn't kept count, clearly because it's not important to them. They keep lots of other statistics.

"Iraq's Quiet Exodus."

"More than 2 million Iraqis have left their country, seeking safety abroad—and robbing the nation of its best and brightest."

These are the people needed to run the country.

The country is destroyed, the nation is destroyed, there is no chance for stability or democracy. And some folks say it's not lost. You wonder what "lost" means to them.
