However, you forget that if they are conservatives, they actually care for their kids, try and instill a sense of morality and of the difference between right and wrong. True conservatives breed more conservatives. They remain married, spend more time with their kids instead of pleasuring themselves and, basically, raise better kids. ANd the churches here - my goodness - they alone create more obedient conservatives per year than any schools. And the school teachers here are for the most part very religious.

So your pipe dream of simply brainwashing the young and getting rid of the old folks through death and attrition will remain only effective in those bastions of liberalism - the west coast, east coast and the inner cities. But these zones are already liberal.

Arizona will only switch to liberalism when more Californians and illegal aliens emigrate and reproduce, and with the bottom falling out of the housing market, CA emigration has slowed to a trickle as CA home prices enter freefall. Illegal emigration is and will continue to be the main leftist force in Arizona. In thirty years CA and Arizona will be largely hispanic descendants of illegals. However, a hispanic liberal is, more often than not, an uneducated Catholic liberal and not exactly the Daily KOS political ideal.

I'm afraid liberals will be in for a big surprise as "new liberalism" in CA and much of the nation will only be about handouts - not sexual diversity, freedom of speech or anything resembling San Francisco "progressives" agenda.

In fact, most of the "old school" liberals' agenda will probably be even more opposed by these folks, and ACLU liberals will be even more unhappy than they are under the current "authoritarian GOP regime" Look at Mexico for the political example of what is coming.

Anyway, by Arizona standards - I would be a liberal. So there is a long way to go. Art's right - he's so far left of Arizona politics he's somewhere in Los Angeles.
