I suppose you mean the version with Sean Connery in it. Usually he can make even the worst turkey worth watching, but he couldn't save this one. The acting was so bad that in the theater I watched it in the audience actually broke out laughing in the middle of a big love scene.
I've only seen an audience respond that negatively to a film once before. Many years ago, I endured a totally awful movie with Paul McCartney about some missing session tapes (I can't remember the name of it, but it was mostly about giving Paul an excuse to sing a few songs). The film was filled with all sorts of artsy-fartsy pretensions and avant-garde nonsense and experimental camera shots.
About half way through it, the focus on the projector went south, and it was a several minutes before the audience (myself included) realized
it was a mechanical malfunction and not a deliberate effect.
