The star analogy
Red dwarfs are known to have been here from the beginning, a "first generation" stars...They pass unnoticed, burning very little and are very cold.
OTOH, huge stars live a short life, burn immense amount of energy and in their firy end, inspire beings thousands of lightyears away.
