I'm reading "The Looming Tower" at the present. I'm close the beginning of the book, where it describe Bin Laden adventures of Afghanistan in a place he called the Lion's Den where he imagines the Soviet Union was defeated.
It's somewhat amusing and interesting. And other than the fear of being murdered, I don't know why Hollywood doesn't use this kind of material to make movies.
And generally speaking since 911 I have probably spent too much time interested in these maniacs. I get a sense, that it almost appears that what Arabs in general [or the group think] really desire is the return of the Mongol invasion- they apparently haven't had that much fun since that time.
Though with the current wealth from oil, you have an Arab version of Beverly Hillbillies making things exciting: Jed "J. D." Clampett "marrying" everyone in sight, Granny and many others in burkas when in public- assuming they ever allowed in public, murderous children acting though they have piety so they aren't punished, dead bodies everywhere, and Hollywood in flames. Then of course the really exciting [but skillfully underplayed] part of the show is all the gay activity involved.

- Well, that's the end of the film. Now, here's the meaning of life.
