This is all you're going to be hearing for the next few weeks. I suggest you look at the history a bit more carefully.
I understand how comforting it is to believe that if only Al Gore had been president, none of this crap would be happening. Sorry. The planning for 9/11 began in 1996, and as I pointed out, in other nations the war had already been on for years.
This is the chronology of Al Qaida in Iraq at the end of the Bush administration and the beginning of the Obama administration.
Administrations changed, and so did foreign policy and the idea that America had a role in keeping the world safe. But I note that as late as 2011, the Obama administration was hailing the great success of the Iraq War.
Everything since then has been on Obama's watch. The Arab "spring," the radical Islamist uprisings, the destruction of more dictators, many other things. Obama has been in charge of foreign policy for seven years now.
The idea that there would be no hotbed of radical Islamist activity in the world today if Saddam was still dictator is a bit naïve, which is why I pointed out that the international problem of radical Islam not only preceded the war in Iraq, but even preceded 9/11.
Now, who lost Syria?
"Bush did it."
