Is. That in it's quest for oil contracts for Big Oil the US has contributed significantly to making their homeland unlivable.
The US is incapable for accepting the consequences if its' actions. (Unless they seem heroic.) And it has a long and dirty history of abusing it's power.
There is a shorter history of using its' power for the sake of good. Korea, WWII, early assistance to Israel, the Marshall Plan, there are probably a few others.
Those are gone. The oligarchy has taken over, and it's been a matter of adding to the megacorporations empires and that's all it will be until - - - . I don't know what but it will be the bloodiest, most violent period the world has ever seen until the resources of the planet are used for the common good again.
There will be an equal and opposite reaction. Read history. Heck, read the history of the US. See if Britain accepts any responsibility for our rebellion. (And see if the US is grateful for the French contribution to the success of the revolution. Couldn't have done it without French help. Heck, they even paid US troops when the States wouldn't. Remember "freedom fries"?)
