I'm aware of Robinson's work, which may pertain to global warming issues, but I haven't read anything of his that implies we could become a net oil exporter unless, like Jacob says, we not only go mostly nuclear, but also transform our transportation infrastructure into a non-carbon-burning one.
We'll be performing a miracle if we can just cut out most of the imports.
