I was feeling the urge to post something about that. Not in the vein of toldyaso, but to point out that it's a classic case study of the dynamic between the RWA and, remarkably and vividly, a whole "clown car" of not-so-funny-now wannabe demagogues competing to see who can dig deepest into the RWA psyche and lay down grappling hooks.

It's all there flayed open for our examination like one of Dr. Carson's patients. Multiple threat vectors, plus the deliciously shivery "they could be among us right now!"...let the demagogues count the threats. And "they" are not like us, let the demagogues count the ways. And the demagogues give us permission to beat "them" for their effrontery. And the demagogues promise all the ways they'll keep us safe from implacably evil "them".

Another remarkable element in all this is the masterful way that Daesh is pushing the buttons of our RWAs, as if they understand them as well our demagogues. As well they might, since the leaders of Daesh sit atop their own army of RWAs.

As noted in many opinion pieces, Daesh wants to destroy the "grey zone", to sort people out, Muslim RWAs under their dominion, all the other RWAs shivering under the wings of their strong men...until they can maneuver us into that final apocalypic battle on the plains of Syria. According to their extreme views of the end, they need our army there as much as they need their own. They're moving all the pieces into position.
