Church on a Saturday?
Catholics do. You can go to afternoon mass (usually 4 or 5 p.m.) and skip getting up early on a Sunday. Praise the Lord for Saturday mass! I like my Sunday sleep-ins! Of course, I haven't been to mass since the whole scandal of the Priests molesting young boys blew up.
You could have reminded them that a true Christian would be as concerned for a stranger as for their friend and suggest they might as well go home since their Christianity seemed to be face value only.
