That was a well written justification for keeping RL around. I do believe there were some significant factual errors, and certainly a subjective determination with which I just can't agree.

RL is a sick puppy, and at your insistence may be the 'Zone's sick puppy, he is not my sick puppy. He's like a rabid pit bull, usually all right, but when out of control does damage which cannot be undone. I am uncomfortable being identified with his species or any group which repeatedly tolerates his predatory, stalking bullying. It's not as if this is the first, second or third time. It's not as if the pathology is under his control.

RL is a failed experiment. I remember your appointing him as a Moderator. The rationale was that he'd grow into it. He didn't, he used his position to further his egomaniacal and sadistic savaging of those with whom he does not agree. He's a failed subject of your efforts at behavioral modification, too, as the same thing happens over and over.

I'm not going to sing my praises. (I would if I could. Can't find them. Can't sing, either.) In the past I've worked very hard at being as much an offender as anyone. Sometimes I regarded this place as a barroom brawl, and gleefully joined in the "fun". Where I'll respectfully disagree with you is in my current behaviors and those of the relatively recent past. Evolving into regarding this place as a rather pleasant community, I believe my behavior as an HZ participant has improved with some continuity over time. I think I stay within at least some norm for lively debate. You've implied you can say the same about RL - I don't believe it.

It's clear you've made a determination, again. And I believe it reflects poorly on the HZ, and RL reflects poorly every single individual here. And that RL will never learn what is acceptable to polite society as long as his behavior is tolerated. It's not doing him any favor, either.
