Oddly enough, for some people, like myself, the idea that the Universe had a beginning and will some day end is very difficult to swallow. It is much easier for me to accept that it will always be here, and has always been here, and that it pretty much remains, on the large scale and on the average, unchanged.
THis was the opinion (and preferred explanation) of most scientists until about 40 years ago, when evidence was uncovered for the Big Bang. The best evidence now indicates the Universe is an evolving thing, whether we like it or not. So your reluctance to come to grips with "no beginning, no end" seems to be the right choice. At least, for the time being....
What is really interesting is that what you find unacceptable, I find perfectly reasonable, and vice-versa. What this really tells us is that what we WANT to be true, what SEEMS right, is dead wrong for at least one of us. Maybe both.
