Is not that a post that starts here can't devolve into a bit of a fracas. I just don't think it ought to start out on here with a dig. His shot at "wingers" was aimed clearly at you, Gbakie, Lee, and others even if you felt no slight from it. Perhaps that's a term of endearment to you. The point is it wasn't meant as one. If we allow a clearly inflammatory post to begin on here, then why do we have Flame, just so we can cuss at one another?

I think it's a chickenhawk tactic to use this forum to provoke divisive debate because the person starting the post knows there are limits to the amount of outrage will be directed back at them. It's like standing in a bunker lobbing hand grenades outside when the people being blown up only have knives.

If you'll notice, when I've had some current event I wanted to bring up that I knew would result in a bitter and divisive fight, I've started it on Flame. If I felt the information was important as a current event and fit best on CE, I've bitten my tongue when I introduced it and tried to paint a more moderate presentation so that we could actually talk about the issue first before we broke into our separate camps. That has not worked well at all because of the atmosphere that's allowed here.

If the rules are currently set up to be as you say than I call for a vote to change them. We have a Flame board. Let's use it for the juicy stuff and try to keep this place more moderate.
