A link to NASA's current Mars reference architecture was given right here at habitable zone

It had a lot of bone head parts, such as one time use interplanetary craft, but the really bone head part of it was launching multiple reactors, one per mission, the way Zurbrin proposed.

Of course, with the current instrucitons of the Congress even this was not supposed to be done, but it reveals Griffins grand scheme. The Congress did not want the next administration to inherit any more mistakes in space engineering.

Its going to be realy tough to get only 1 reactor launched for fuel production on Mars, but that will be the next generations task, not mine. Nuclear power is not needed for the Moon, aside from the RTGs, and those are explosion proof.

My guess is that the greens will make manned Mars flight so geeky that none of the space enthusiasts in the next greneration will ever get laid. The space club will join the chess club, the science fiction club, and the math team as geek central.

And that's real politics for you.
