Armageddon vs. Deep Impact
Armageddon was an awful film all the way around. And the science - a planetoid the size
of Texas could not be split in half or even dented by one nuclear bomb planted 800 feet
below its surface.
On the other hand, the other giant space rock threatening Earth film of 1998, Deep
Impact, was much better. It had some flaws too, but overall was far more realistic.
A shame how folks are so intimidated by science. Do we blame our educational
system on this, or the way folks approach the field, or both?
