Armageddon was all about lusting over Liv Tyler. Deep Impact now got me thinking what I'd do if I had a few minutes of prior warning of a huge wave that was going to inundate the area I lived in, too short a time to actually evacuate to high ground because of traffic jams but enough time to peruse your own area.
Actually, it's rather survivable. The water is only there temporarily so all you have to do if find some sealable watertight container that has enough air in it to sustain you for an hour or so. Maybe an empty boiler or a cargo container. Just before the wave hits you close yourself up into it, wait until the wave recedes back out to sea, emerge, and start looting.
I'm just not one of those guys that starts singing "Nearer My God to Thee" and awaits my ultimate demise.
