I'm tempted to write the author of this piece and the man who devised this new theory after studying primates sexual behaviour.
He found that male monkeys that groomed females first, got them to copulate more often. Three times more often.
The author calls this "paying" for sex.
(Gee, I thought it was called courtship, maybe even romance? A little kissy-poo? A little rub down as foreplay?)
>"It is not a rare phenomenon in nature that males have to make some 'mating effort' in order to get a female's 'permission' to mate," Hammerstein said, likening the effort to a "fee" that the male pays.
"The interesting result... is that the mating market seems to have an influence on the amount of this fee."
Oh, in his world, all the females should "just be ready" without all that painfully expensive petting?
If this guy gets any more disconnected from his brain or his wallet, maybe he'll end up with a monkey for a <partner?> He certainly deserves it.
