I can't do much about how his employer would react to
such stories, but just because I might criticize it (my first
question to him would not be "you're full of it/crazy", but do
you have any evidence? Not exactly criticism, at least in my
book) shouldn't stop him or anyone else coming forward with
what they consider to be a compelling report of otherworldly
contact.

You certainly haven't stopped pushing your reports and ideas
just because I and others here say otherwise, so why should
anyone else stop? We all have the rights to our viewpoints,
even if others disagree with them. I don't run some giant
government censorship board and the government only pays
attention to me at tax time.

Watergate was blown out into the open despite a massive
attempt by the top people in Washington to cover it up.
So were the Pentagon Papers and a lot of the thuggery going
on in the Bush regime now. As Ted Koppel once said, a
reporter would give his or her right arm to be the one to
uncover alien life to the public. So would any scientist,
who would be guaranteed instant fame, fortune, and a
place in history. So why hasn't this happened if there is
real evidence for alien life? No agency is that foolproof.

But do you see why I don't know what else to do or say when
someone makes extraordinary claims like what you just said
and yet there is no evidence behind the words of some guy I
know nothing about and never met. Plus if everything is then
claimed to be some kind of government coverup/mind control
operation, then all bets are off.

That's why this isn't science, it's just people with stories and
claims. I won't call it religion at this point, either, but it is not
science.
