Yeah, the call for compassion for our poor little wingnut buddies arises from understanding gained through the theory of the Right Wing Authoritarianism.

This is the idiotic theory which rests on the foundational observation that RWAs have what psychologists diplomatically call a "heightened threat response".

In other words, this is the idiot theory that predicts with 100% accuracy that RWA will squirt explosively from both ends over an imaginary ISIS plot last week. Or the week before over Syrian refugee toddler-terrorists. The week before it was a radical Christianist terrorist shooting up a Planned Parenthood, not so much freakout or outrage. But there's always the War on Christians to squeeze your terror gland, or the War on Christmas, or the War on The Family. Or how about those Mexican rapist-murderers flooding across the border (when actually net migration's been the other way for years, but facts, phhtt).

That idiotic theory.

Before you embarrass yourself further on the subject, Tom, you might want to educate yourself by googling "theory of mind". It's something that most people are born with, but some of us (I'm looking at you conservatives) less than others. When you possess one, and apply it through refinements such as the RWA model, other humans become less mysterious, less opaque, and certainly less threatening.

You should look into it.

And then there's nonsense at the start equating the scientific consensus about global warming with right wing pants-shitting over imaginary terrorist plots. That's just stupid and deserves no further comment.
