And what's more he's set himself up as VP material. No one wants a sore loser and no one wants someone whose endorsed someone else.
He looks like a lifelong heavy smoker. That starts catching up with folks at his age and slows them down, that's why the short walking tours, lackluster campaign schedule, etc. He reminds me a lot of my own grandfather at that age (minus the trophy wife) - the last of the idealistic politicians who achieve self-awareness about their obsolescence in a very corrupt environment.
Now I guess I have to root for the likely odd couples:
McCain/Thompson
Romney/ Thompson
Romney/McCain or vice-versa.
Giuliani has always seemed weasel-ish. Romney is too much hair dye, too little substance. McCain is the ultimate opportunist - a man who knows how to exploit circumstances to his advantage.
Any of them are still better than Hillary or Obama. It's obvious the Hillary fans have eagerly picked up their DNC self-lobotomy kits and worked on all their lobes frontal and posterior. Their amnesia about the nightmare that was the Clinton era is the result.
Obama in office is a terrifying prospect, but I think I would rather see him in there than Hillary. His inexperience would cripple him and he would be unlikely to make as many waves as folks think he would. Hillary would head straight to her throne room and get out her Executive Order pen and fill all the Exec appointments with her pack of lawbreaking cronies.
:-(
America's decline...the BIG one...has pretty much started right now.
