You fired off a long and involved post elsewhere about the utter disaster we are in. After all, all the headlines say so.
Then you turn around and say the 90s were an economic boom. This, despite (among other things) a lower stock market level, a lower payroll employment level, and lower average hourly earnings (in constant dollars). And that's in the last two or three years of the 90s. If I move it back a bit further, the 90s look even worse. The unemployment rate didn't drop as low as it is right now--5 percent--until June of 1997.
I think you need to work on your definitions of booms and disasters. They seem to be a bit subjective.
You've still got some points you can make. I threw you a freebie on manufacturing employment. The budget surplus would be another one.
Go ahead. Throw your sources or sit down.
