an inexpensive lock box might help
I use one of those smaller, fireproof lockboxes (designed for documents) to keep all my most valuable disks together. You just have to remember, of course, to actually put them in there. It's been my experience that setting something on a shelf is really only one step above flinging it off a cliff.
