Guilty pleasures of an ex-motorhead.

The original Morris Garage minis were very popular cars in the UK back in the 60s, not only because they were practical and economical, but they were great performance/sports cars in the rally/gymkhana circuit. They soon spawned a host of imitators from Saab, Volvo, Fiat and other Euro marques. Both the current BMW Mini and the Miata, although economical to operate, are niche cars designed primarily for the sports car enthusiast. But they are expensive, considering what you get. Especially the Miata, at least the mini will hold 4 people. And they are still imports. For twenty years, I prayed for a Sprite, Spitfire, Triumph-
type sports roadster to come out of Detroit, to no avail. "No market", they said. Then Mazda cleaned Detroit's clock again with the fabulously popular Miata.

It's hard to believe the Big Three base their decisions on what people want. America still doesn't make a decent sports car.

And don't even think Corvette.

C'mon REB, get into this one!
