I'm sorry. ;)
'Good Girl Syndrome' that society places on women is one reason...it just played into the kind of personality I have anyway. Also, as a woman, and a mother...I think we are wired to be this way. Compromise, nurture and peace keeping is in our make-up. Raising teen-agers I had to learn to compromise in order to keep the lines of communication open. I find that this is also true now. Black and white thinking/absolutes only frustrates and shuts down any hope of understanding. I am wired to understand....and be tolerant. I want my corner of the world to be a better place for having me in it. As it is...if I should die tomorrow....Zoners will remember me for my tolerance. If you should die tomorrow, Zoners would be relieved.
How can I possibly advocate tolerance...and not be so myself? It is who I am...and I like it. People feel comfortable around me, and that is paramount to my existence. Life is not all about me. I am not the center of the universe. I must share.
...and to quote Joan Baez: " I am no greater than this song I am singing: I am better than I thought I could be"
Thank you for answering some of my questions....I will have more as I ponder your thoughts...may I ask you more in the future?
Oh...By the way....GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
