We modern humans will not be around forever. Some think we’ll become extinct. I think we’ll evolve into something else. We will probably evolve into several different forms, especially if we spread out to other worlds with different environments. Some of this evolution may be self induced as our race learns how to manipulate genetic code.

But part of us will be there with them. We’ll be part of their history, and some of our DNA will still be in them.

I wonder if there will be a group of humans who resist evolution and use genetic engineering to keep the tradition human form? It is a good form that serves us well.

As for the Earth, some might try to save it for historical reasons. Perhaps in 4 billion years they will know how to move worlds. They could move the Earth to another star. Or perhaps they could build an artificial sun. Or perhaps they’ll be masters in stellar engineering and be able to restart dead stars. Or perhaps they will do something we can’t even comprehend.
