re: Is America better off than it was 8 years ago?

Since the decline in QOL, one income households and such generally began around 1988, the point is pretty much moot. We have been going downhill since just before Reagan left office.

America was worse off after Bush Sr., Clinton and Bush Jr.

Reagan is partially to blame for legalizing so many illegals and enticing more to join them. The shift in income, the minimum wage increases through the years and the deflating of the dollar's intrinsic buying power has been declining steadily for two decades. The reduction of major industry and the importation of nearly all goods is the writing on the wall.

Each year it gets a little worse. It doesn't matter if you are rich - you simply can't BUY stuff that's good anymore. The quality control in everything from spring water to paper plates, clothing and furniture is declining steadily.
