"Was that book printed in 1947 or at a later date."
Yes, my book was printed in 1947, but it was first printed in 1895. Obviously some of the book could be changed in later printing, but it's possible that little could have been changed. From publishing notes I posted, it appears Kent died or was somehow incapacitated because his estate takes over the copyright in 1923. Since the author is no longer involved, it's even less likely changes occurred from 1923 onward, and book was probably just mostly reprinted.
"The reasoning about the 100 year old book is that it would go close to the beginning of the discovery of radioactivity."
And why is it important when radioactivity was discovered?
The first reactors made would been in late 30s or early 40s.
