I have not had a chance to study the whole thing but it seems to me at this moment that they used a reference year pressure readings as a guide to try and match the actual records to, in the process they needed to use some nice formulas to achieve that result.
If this hunch is correct, then such modification would negate the usefulness of the whole graph, unless mathematics is used to reverse the “homogenisation†process.
