This is lifting the curtain:
Just 5 hours a night x 4 days a week x 52 weeks = 43-1/3 days.
And that's just the mildly addicted.
Some kids are staying up almost all night, falling asleep in class and already start to dream about their video games. Their subconscious has already been taken over because they have spent so much time in repetitive action. They can barely spell, can't handwrite and know more about their video game world than the real world
"See ya mom, I'm going to spend the next 3 months in the game pod - see you in August sometime. When I get out I'll be 20 pounds heavier, be more inclined to violence and think of nothing else but video games."
It's right up there with smoking in creating damge, only this damage is more mental than physical. We're already seeing the results in the public IQ - and for that matter, the economy.
Just the silence or negative response here tells me that the problem is so massive most Zoners are already uncomfortable with the issue -which is even more telling since the average Zoner age must hover around 50+. This makes it pretty much epidemic. like obesity.
So not only am I lifting the curtain and trying to steer people away from programmed paths and mental repetition, making them "self-directed" in lieu of performing like millions of trained monkeys along some programmers' leash, but this topic and my posts amount to a public health messages for those who try to avoid thinking of the consequences of their choices.
