"Until we, as a human race, can treat each other with respect and equality...I don't give a rats' ass if we save the planet...For what? More misery? Hypocrisy and denial...that is what will kill us in the end....our hearts will die first."
It's a very good point, but humans can't destroy Earth even if they wanted to.
Humans could kill a lot of humans, and some people seem to want to do this, but that's about it.
If it was a burning desire by many humans we might manage to kill the mosquito.
Why do we need this creature? Why not make it extinct- or at least reduce it's numbers by 90%.
Personally I wouldn't miss the mosquito, fleas, ticks, and lice can also be made extinct.
Does any human want these creatures to existence?
I think we have the "right" to get rid of them- I don't know if we would be capable and I don't know if it's worth a huge amount of effort.
Right now, the mosquito because it carries a parasite, is killing about a million humans a year- and causing extreme pain and suffering to tens of millions of humans. Billions of dollars are current spent trying to deal with this problem.
But if we simply wanted to get rid of the mosquito without killing any other useful insect, we don't really have this puny capability.
The carbon offsets are a scam, that is all they are. Everyone knows it.
