Interesting

that the places you cite has the results at 10 percentage points and the actual details from what I'm reading in other places seem to be from 8.6 - 9.0. Although it sounds like it's splitting hairs, there's been this strong push by the media that if Hillary went into the double-digit territory, she could claim the real victory. It's really interesting that the rounding by various news organizations tends to put her exactly in that doublt-digit land when it really didn't happen.

Carefully analyzing the actual results as far as gains made by Obama over the last months, particularly since the Ohio primary where the demographics are extremely similar to Pennsylvania, it appears that Obama made major gains in all sectors that are considered Hillary's strengths. Let's remember that during this rise he's been the target of incredible attacks on issues that should normally have died quickly but the media kept them pumping. For him to end up with the results he did to me shows great electability and resilience.

His fundraising during this time was mind-blowing compared to the Clinton campaign that many analysists see as in real trouble with a tremendous amount of debt. She really needed a huge win in Pennsylvania to make any real advancement over Obama's delegate totals with defections of super delagates trickling in over the past months and a lot of speculation that trend will continue.

When you really step back and analyze what the media is doing here with continually overstating Clinton's chances in all this it points to a few pretty startling possibilities. Either

1. the media with their corporate ownership is pushing Clinton to be the candidate because a. she would be more easily defeated by McCain with of her huge negatives or b. she's enough of a corporatist herself that they could live with her as President. Notice the people that now seem to endorse her such as Joe Scarborough and Richard Mellon-Scaife who a few years back would've preferred her as a dart board.

or

2. the media is simply looking at ratings and the earnings that occur from prolonging drama and we're being played. Chris Matthews, who normally really gets under my skin, actually said as much today.

Either scenario is an affront to our democracy. The only business that our Constitution gives protections to is the press and it appears that money and power have completely co-opted it.

If I'm wrong, look for a huge dropoff in contributions to Obama over the next few days. I think you'll see the exact opposite.
