The Hypatia Libation.

Grapes did not grow in Egypt. From the earliest times, the Egyptians drank a form of beer or mead which was made from honey and grain. No doubt it remained popular well into Hellenistic and Roman times. By then, wine was also being imported by sea into the port of Alexandria where the Greek aristocracy and immigrants no doubt consumed vast quantities of it.

Just as an aside, , the great Library was quickly rebuilt to some form of its former glory after it was accidentally burned down by Julius Caesar.
Several hundred years later it was burned down again, deliberately this time, by the Christians, and it was never rebuilt.
