For crying out loud, Lindy.

I was 52, she was 32, and a very active Roman Catholic. She was a very nice, talented person (who made 4 times what I did) from an over-achieving family. The "black sheep" of the family was her youngest, out of 4 children, brother who had graduated from Annapolis and was flying jets around the Carribean and world. According to her family, he had struggled at the academy, and wasn't doing much simply flying around. Her younger sister was on national TV 5 nights a week. Even her mother was an attorney.

We got along famously, and it was legitimate for her to want children. It was as legitimate for me to be done with that area of life. She married an old, for her, flame and is now a mother. We are still in touch, limited by her husband's unwarranted jealousy.

Sometimes a relationship can be 90% great and 10% problematical and the 10% can be the deciding factor. It was in this case, but it was easier to admit to the differences that it would have been to live with them.
