Oddly, I only seem to hear this sentiment from people comfortably swinging in the hammocks of wealthy nations.

...Unless, of course, they have wealth or property we want for our own purposes.
-- The appeal to intellectualism is kind of amusing after spending so much time on the virtues of the intangible and unanalyzable.
