This is a cultural epidemic

It goes way beyond these examples. The West seems to have decided that bureaucracy is an end, not a means.

We're not building hardly any infrastructure, power plants, new reservoirs and dams, or anything like the original World Trade Center. That beautiful spiral building that showed up here a while back was like a breath of fresh air. I'm still waiting for the parasites to kill it with lawsuits.

We used to construct titanic things in a fraction of the time we do now. The Empire State Building was completed in a year and three months from the start of excavation. The Hoover Dam took five years. The Golden Gate Bridge, a little over four years. And this was a long time ago. Don't even bring up nuclear power plants.

It's worth noting that you would probably not even be allowed to build the Golden Gate Bridge or Hoover Dam today.

I'm really worried that we've lost part of what made Western civilization great.
